Welcome to our tour at Klinik Kalvari.
First we see the patients that are coming to our Clinic starting seven o'clock in the morning, they wait patiently till the Clinic opens around eight. Every day we have about 10-30 "control" patients, next to that we take on around 5-15 new patients. At this moment we have more then 5000 registert patients.
The patients that come for there check-up, give their patient card and we will get their file ready. New patients will fill out a form. They need to write down their personal information and the symptoms they have.
All patients are weighted, their bloodpressure is measured and there will be a short conversation. The person that is interviewing the patients brings their file to a nurse.
The nurses look at the gathered information and examine the patient if nescesary.
For TBC. Sexual transmited diseases (STD's) and Malaria, the nurses refer the patients to our laboratory.
For a Hiv/aids test the patients will go to a counselor, who will explain a littlebit more about Hiv/aids and the procedure of the test. After Counsling the patient will go to the laboratory for testing.
We follow the official procedures for all our testing. The patients will bring in spittle for TBC testing, blood for Hiv/aids, and a smear for STD's.
Ater testing, the patients wait for the results in front of the Clinic, where they are able to watch an informative movie, or read in booklets that are available. After hiv/aids testing, the counselor will explain the results. If a patient is tested positive the counselor will explain about the medication and how to life with hiv/aids.
The patients get thir medicines in our Farmacy. The medicine for TBC, Hiv/aids are free. The government supplies us with these medicines.
When the patients have given their prescription to our pharmasist, they go to our pastor Leo.
He talks with the patients, shares from Gods word and prays with the patient.
After that the patient will get the prescriped medicines in our farmacy (Apotik). Most of the time a follow up appointment will be made...
Every day we have a break at eleven, we pray together and talk about our day.
Mother Julia cooks for us, she is one of the engines of the Clinic.
Next to the Clinic we are building a temporary building to expand our service to the patients. In April 2014 we started using it.
Thanks for joining our tour! Syaloom from all our collegues!
